I was denied benefits. Should I just give up?

A: You absolutely should not give up if you are denied after your initial Application for Social Security Disability Benefits. The overwhelming majority of people that apply for Social Security Disability benefits are denied on their first attempt. In fact, the overwhelming majority of people that apply for Security Disability Benefits are denied after their First Appeal. As a general rule, if you are going to successfully obtain Social Security Disability Benefits it will happen at the time of your Second Appeal. This is the first time that you have a right to appear before an Administrative Law Judge and is generally the first time that an attorney gets involved in your case.
