My family member was killed in a construction accident. What should I do?

A: Of all the industries in the United States, Construction ranks third for causing death as a result of accidents. If your family member was killed in a construction accident you may be entitled to Workers Compensation benefits. As a general rule, a surviving spouse and minor children are entitled to Dependency Benefits after a work related death. However, there are times when other family members may also be entitled to Dependency Benefits. There is also the potential for a Superior Court liability claim after a construction accident death. As indicated above, this type of claim would exist if some other business/people acted negligently and caused the death.
