What is Social Security Disability?

A: Social Security Disability is a federal program that that provides benefits to workers who are disabled. To successfully obtain these benefits the worker must show that he is disabled to the point that he is effectively unable to work. He must also meet other requirements. If a worker successfully obtains Social Security Disability Benefits he will receive monthly disability payments and assistance with medical bills through Medicare.
