21-Year-Old Ocean County Man Dies Following Three-Car Crash in NJ

At least one young man has been killed and others have been sent to nearby hospitals after a three-car crash in Jackson Township on July 21, 2013.
According to police officials, a 21-year-old Oakhurst resident was traveling on Route 195 East in Ocean County on Sunday evening. Shortly after 5:30 p.m., the young driver’s silver Honda veered into the westbound lanes and struck a Hyundai sedan.
N.J. State Police spokesman, Sgt. Brian Polite, says that the impact with the sedan caused the Honda to spin out of control in the westbound lanes. The Honda was struck on its side by a station wagon before coming to rest in the westbound lanes.
The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released to the public.
Sgt. Polite told the media that the occupants of the station wagon were taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Hamilton, for treatment of minor injuries, although the sergeant could not confirm how many people had been riding in the vehicle at the time of the crash. None of the passengers in the sedan sustained injury in the wreck.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident. While Sgt. Polite could not identify the immediate cause of the crash, he said that speed and alcohol had not been ruled out as possible factors.
Our attorneys and staff wish to extend our deepest condolences to the victim’s family and friends as we keep him in our thoughts and prayers.
